So wait a second…Who is Mary Jane…Who are you?
You answered it yourself. I’m Mary Jane! As an investigative writer in the world of marijuana, cannabis, CBD…whatever your flavor. Wouldn’t it be cool if I had some crazy story about growing up in a small town or big city? Perhaps some defying the odds tale about fighting off a wild raccoons to protect my belongings on a camping trip, only to have them take everything but my laptop. I mean, I can come up with something like that if you want but I would rather cut the fluff and chat about the things we are here to chat about. The other Mary Jane 🙂
Can you at least describe Mary Jane?
I get this one a good bit. I am never sure how to answer either. Don’t you feel like someone who can accurately describe themselves hasn’t really discovered who they are? Maybe I am getting a bit deep there. Let’s try this, I’ll give you a list of adjectives which I’ve heard used to describe me before….
…See what I am getting at? If you are honest with yourself, I think you will realize that there will always be variations of how you are described. Sure, I like to think I can get along with most people and I believe I tend to do that. I can tell you that I am likely to shun folks who are close-minded. Other than that, I would say that my name is pretty fitting.
So Mary Jane IS your name?
Do people really go by fake names that often? I mean I guess Sam Clemens and Eric Blair technically had pen names. Nonetheless, Mary Jane is what I’ve always been called and is what I will be remain in the foreseeable future (yes, that is a marriage joke…thanks to all the other single ladies out there for sharing a chuckle).
Why are all of the images of you illustrated? We want to see the real Mary Jane!
When I started this, I thought it would be cool to just have different artist interpretations of me. Some of them are scarily accurate. Some of them look like they were illustrated in a dark room by someone who was really high. I’m no artist so I don’t judge! After all, it is art…not math. (Not that I don’t have a very special place in my heart for my fellow math lovers!)
How long have you been doing this?
You’ve had this site for years?
Oh! I thought you meant consuming cannabis ;-). The site is an combo of new topics and old topics that I have written for years. I decided to create Mary Jane’s Almanac when I got fed up with constantly looking for cannabis/marijuana/CBD related info and news but only found sites and forums full of biased opinions and less than researched data.
So all of you fully research all of your work and assure that it is factual?
I see what you did there, you clever person. In short, no. In fact, I don’t feel like anyone can claim that with this topic. Here is the long answer. Obviously, with such a controversial topic, there is going to be a good bit of opinion in place. In fact, most if not all of my pieces maintain my opinion. I would advise against using direct quotes from me without fact checking yourself but I would also say the same of just about anyone. Far too long has the world taken headlines of sensationalists stories on social media as “the hard truth” when they are nothing more than click-bait.
My goal is to provide the information I have and believe to be true so that you can go forth and develop your own views. I certainly do everything to provide you with what I feel is factual information but what would make me happiest is if my readers simply use my opinion to form their own instead of just adopting an opinion without thinking for themselves. I’m a firm believer that the day we stop questioning things is the day we fail as humans. I strive to provide a thought provoking opinion that will open up the platform for conversation. I want my readers to question me and question others. That is how we work through things in life and provide the foundation for progress! (Note: See my thoughts above regarding folks who are close-minded…that type of mentality provides no ability to change things)
How can I communicate with you?
While it may seem like I am trying to hide through the veil of text on a page, I’m certainly not! Nothing makes me smile more than hearing and engaging in conversation with my readers! If you have positive or negative feedback, questions, comments or just want to say “Hi”, please do so! Here is a link to contact me and yes…the messages come directly to me and are answered by me. You can also communicate with me on my Facebook and Twitter pages!
