Let’s look at cooking with cannabis butter during the holidays! Okay, Okay, Okay…I know that technically I’m a little late on my Thanksgiving piece but once you try the recipes I’ve put together below, you’ll understand how I was so blazed that I couldn’t remotely begin to post anything! ;-). The good news is, there is another round of holidays coming up so you can try these out then! Thanksgiving is the most delicious day of the year. All the best foods are put together into a wonderful feast for all. But there’s something better: Danksgiving. “What is Danksgiving” you may ask. Well, simply put, it’s the stoner take on Thanksgiving. Recipes are infused with cannabis and shared among friends. I love Danksgiving and look forward to it every year. So I thought I would put together a little list of some classic recipes with a cannabis twist. Everything in this article can be made right at home. There’s no special tools needed outside of the normal kitchen utensils, unless you count cannabis as a tool. You’ll need plenty of that. Just get your apron out (you too, boys! Guys who can cook are sexy hehe) and maybe toke up to get those creative juices flowing. Let’s make some Danksgiving magic together!

The Easiest Holiday Cannabutter Recipe – Mary Jane’s Almanac

Cannabutter is a true stoner staple. It’s easy to make and you’ll be rewarded with delicious, stoney butter you can add to almost anything. Plus, making cannabis-infused butter doesn’t need to be complicated! With this easy-to-follow recipe you’ll be making medicated feasts in no time. Seriously, anyone can do it.

Tools you’ll need:

  1. Pots and Pans (but seriously, shouldn’t you have these already?)
  2. Ladel
  3. Spoon (Ideally a wooden one)
  4. Something to strain the butter with, either a metal sieve
  5. A container for storing your butter (and leftovers)

Ingredients:

  1. 4 sticks unsalted butter
  2. 1 ounce of ground cannabis

Instructions:

  1. Grind your cannabis then set aside.

  4. Simmer for 45 minutes, watching closely to ensure it doesn’t overcook.
  5. Remove from heat and strain in your storage container through sieve or cheesecloth, being sure to get as much butter out of the batch as possible.
  6. Enjoy! You’re now prepared for this Danksgiving (or any other holiday for that matter!)

One quintessential element of any Thanksgiving is of course, the stuffing. Everyone seems to have their own little spin on it. Mary Jane’s Ginger Snaps – My Favorite Little Sweet Treat (With a Kick hehe)

Nothing says the holidays like a good ginger snap. Nothing says Danksgiving like medicating this sweet treat. These are perfect for after the feast. Plus they’re excellent with cocoa, tea or coffee! They also stay fresh for about a week if you put them in a sealed container after they’ve had a chance to cool. That way you can enjoy a little bit of Danksgiving even when the party has passed.

Tools you’ll need:

  1. Baking Sheet
  2. Large bowl
  3. Medium bowl
  4. Small bowl
  5. Fork (C’mon…did you really need a link as if you don’t have a fork?)

Ingredients:

  1. ¾ cup cannabutter
  2. 1 cup sugar
  3. 1 egg
  4. 4 tablespoons molasses
  5. 2 cups flour
  6. 1 teaspoon baking soda
  7. ½ teaspoon salt
  8. 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  9. ½ teaspoon ground cloves
  10. 1 teaspoon ground ginger

Instructions:

  1. Preheat oven to 350°.
  2. Cream butter and sugar in large bowl
  3. Add egg and molasses.
  4. Mix dry ingredients in medium bowl
  5. Add dry ingredients slowly to wet ingredients
  6. Roll into one-inch balls.
  7. Coat with sugar in small bowl
  8. Place on baking sheet and flatten with fork making a criss-cross pattern.
  9. Bake 8 minutes for soft cookies, 12-15 minutes for crunchy cookies.

So there you have it: a Danksgiving or holiday feast for the ages! I hope you enjoy my cannabis-infused menu. It’s sure to brighten your holidays and lift your spirits. Just remember, if you’re not an edible veteran take it VERY slowly. I would even advise having a friend help out if you’re a beginner with edibles. Sometimes it’s not just the turkey that can make you sleepy! The most important part of Danksgiving is to have a good time with loved ones who share your passion for all things cannabis.

Seasons Greetings and Love Around The World,

Mary Jane
